Old Papatoetoe is undergoing infrastructure improvements with initial focused on a 2.5-hectare block of Auckland Council land including the revitalised shopping mall. Foodstuffs acquired 3,065m² to expand and recently refurbished the Papatoetoe New World supermarket.
The town centre redesign will honour the identity of Old Papatoetoe with the puriri, pohutukawa and titoki trees that are such a central feature of the plaza are being kept and celebrated.
The plan will bring new urban community and commerce opportunities to Papatoetoe that aims to revitalise the town centre while honouring the identity of Papatoetoe.
